NITROGEN SHIELD TECHNOLOGY™

A new generation of pipeline protection

A patented process that prevents corrosion under insulation. A continuous flow of dry nitrogen keeps the space between an insulated pipe and its cladding dry and oxygen-free, so the corrosion hidden under insulation never gets the conditions it needs to start.

THE PROBLEM

Corrosion under insulation attacks where nobody can see it.

Insulated pipework works in some of the harshest environments on Earth. Rain, spray, and humidity find their way through cladding and into insulation, and once water is in, it stays. The steel underneath corrodes out of sight, and the industry's answer has been to strip insulation, inspect, repair, and reinstate, over and over.

The scale of the problem is well documented.

40-60%

of pipe maintenance costs
Share of pipe maintenance costs attributed to corrosion under insulation in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. Published review, Metals, 2022.

Hidden

until the cladding comes off
Corrosion under insulation occurs on insulated carbon and low-alloy steel equipment and is concealed by the insulation system itself. Metals, 2022.

~50%

of hydrocarbon leaks
Corrosion under insulation accounts for approximately half of all hydrocarbon leaks in the oil and gas sector, per DNV. Reported July 2026.

HOW IT WORKS

Corrosion needs oxygen. The system removes it.

Steel, water, and oxygen together produce corrosion. Keeping water out of insulation has never worked reliably. Nitrogen Shield Technology works on the other ingredient: it maintains an oxygen-free atmosphere in the annular space between the pipe and its cladding.

01 · MECHANICAL PROTECTION
Protect
The pipe, its insulation, and the cladding stay exactly as designed. The system works inside the space that already exists between them.
02 · ATMOSPHERIC CONTROL
Displace
A continuous flow of dry nitrogen creates an oxygen free atmosphere in the annular space and keeps the insulation material dry, carrying moisture out before it can accumulate.
03 · INTEGRATED MONITORING
Monitor
Sensors track flow, pressure, and integrity in real time, so the condition inside the insulation is measured rather than assumed.

KEY BENEFITS

From traditional exposure to a controlled atmosphere.

Keeps insulation dry
Continuous nitrogen flow helps maintain a dry protective environment inside the insulation system.
Reduces corrosion risk
A drier, oxygen-reduced atmosphere lowers the conditions that drive corrosion.
Extends asset life
Reduced degradation helps preserve pipeline integrity and service life.
Removes moisture
Moisture is transported out of the insulation space before it can accumulate.
Maintains performance
Stable internal conditions support reliable system operation over time.
Measured, not assumed
Integrated monitoring means the protective atmosphere is verified continuously, not inspected occasionally.
